When Chadwick's Newsagents in Bollington first opened its doors in 1905 as a printers, local people would come by to pick up their newspaper and fill their tins with paraffin to light their lamps. These days the store, which celebrated its 100th birthday in May 2005, is busier than ever. Owner Mike Chadwick says the shop is very different from the one started by his great grandparents Edward and Alice Chadwick as he "tries to keep up with the 21st century", but the most dramatic change was the introduction of the lottery. The lottery has been expanding their hopes and expectations ever since. They always remind their customers when there is a big EuroMillions jackpot or a Lotto Rollover - You've got to be in it to win it (as they say).
